Vitafoods Europe 2026

At Vitafoods Europe 2026, we learned that buyers evaluate new functional ingredients not only for their efficacy, but also for their regulatory readiness, scientific evidence, and supply reliability.

From May 5 to 7, RAWGA participated in Vitafoods Europe 2026 in Barcelona, one of Europe’s largest exhibitions for nutraceuticals and functional ingredients.

Through conversations with buyers, we confirmed their interest in VC-H1 and undenatured type II collagen and gained a clearer understanding of the key criteria they consider when evaluating new functional ingredients. Meetings held during and after the event led to follow-up discussions, product and sample evaluations, and the exploration of new business opportunities.

We also confirmed that entering the European market requires assessing in advance whether each product falls within the scope of the EU Novel Food Regulation and which regulatory pathway applies, while ensuring that sufficient safety data, technical documentation, and any necessary scientific evidence are prepared.

Building on these insights, we will continue discussions with interested buyers as we further clarify the regulatory pathway and prepare the necessary supporting materials for the European market.

In your experience, which factor is most likely to determine whether a new functional ingredient moves forward to the next stage of evaluation—efficacy, regulatory readiness, scientific evidence, or supply reliability?
